Michelle Empathizes for Our Hope
Barack Obama along with First Lady Michelle Obama has strived to instill the value of hope during his eight years of presidency. In a promo for Michelle's interview with Oprah Winfrey, Michelle compared her husband's legacy to the mood of a nation facing four years of a Trump presidency. “We feel the difference now," she said in an excerpt featured on CBS This Morning. "See, now, we're feeling what not having hope feels like." She thinks her husband will be remembered for the reassurance he provided to the American people as president, while also suggesting that perhaps that same comfort and support will not be communicated by the office in the years ahead. Whenever tragedy strikes they have put effort in tackling with perseverance that has inspired so many in this country. Barrack says he "wouldn't been able to do this without Michelle."
In another promo of the interview, Michelle also addressed racial and social injustices. "Color, wealth, these things that don’t matter still play too much of a role in how we see one another," she said.
In conclusion, the full interview with Michelle airs Monday on CBS as it in dismay to many, makes its mark as the last interview as First Lady.
