Skai Jackson Talks about Diversity In Hollywood
Skai Jackson is many things, an actress, style enthusiast, a viral meme, hair guru and an a storm warrior on defeating internet trolls. A lot of female actress has used their platform to shine a light on actresses that may have little no recognition for their work in film and TV. The New York City native post a collage entitled "Tinted Tuesday with black women in spectrums of age and diverse in stardom. Black actress that Jackson included were such as Oscar-winner Viola Davis, Lupita N'Yongo, Gabrielle Union and Anika Noni Rose who played Princess Tiana in animated movie The Princess and the Frog. Actress Ryan Destiny who stars in popular FOX show Star, wrote "I appreciate the love. You are a queen! I feel this. I love that even young, your eyes are wide open and ready for anything. IT definitely is a journey. We're killin it. Only Up!" Naturi Naughton, who stars in Power, wrote "Shine on girl," she is on one of the most diverse and black dominated TV shows on television.
Skai has been acting since she was a child when she was in a Band-Aid commercial. The now 15-year-old is a role model who has accomplished plenty including standing up for herself in a Twitter war against rapper Azealia Banks. Of course, Skai wants to move on from her days from Disney Channel. She has been on the network since her role began as Zuri Ross in the series Jessie in 2011 and Bunk'd in 2015. Skai Jackson is also designer, who designed her own clothing line in October, titled Nowadays, which is available at Macy's.
