Daliyah Marie Ariana read 1,000 Books
Four-year-old Daliyah Marie Ariana from Gainesville, Georgia, has read more than 1,000 books and has managed to read certain college-level texts. Yes, you read that correctly. She really, really, really loves books. Shockingly, her voracious reading was enough to impress the Library of Congress, who invited her for a very special visit. She even got the chance to be "librarian for the day Lucky Girl."Daliyah's mother, Haleema Arana, told the Washington Post on Thursday that Daliyah always loved reading since she was a baby. She would listen to her mother and older brother reading and try to do it herself. She took her own girl power approach and read by herself. Following, she took the Daliyah read her first book on her own at 2 years and 11 months. Her family posted a video of the moment on YouTube — and she apparently hasn't slowed down since
“I like to check out books every day,” Daliyah said. “And I want to teach other kids to read at an early age, too,” Daliyah told the Gainesville Times. She recited Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at an upcoming event observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Her precociousness has earned her fame in her Georgia hometown. Since she reads books that are supposedly for 11 year old and 12 year olds such as her older siblings. Her mom, Arana wanted her daughter Daliyah to visit the Library of Congress, the world's largest library, and her favorite library. Her mom called the library granted her wish. They received an invite to the library along with a special tour from Carla Hayden, the 14th Librarian of Congress and the first woman and the first African-American to hold the position.
