Beyoncé's Powerful Lemonade

We, as a nation, are reeling from the power that is Beyoncé as she released her latest album Lemonade. Lemonade was unapologetically vulnerable, spiritual, empowering especially for black girls and women. The visual album was awaiting by her millions of fans from tweets wondering when is Bey coming back. Some tweets were funny and relatable since the album seemed to be teasing us as to if or when the moment would happen.

Lemonade premiered on HBO as music videos for every track from the album. This album is symbolic towards the emotions of what its like to be a black woman in today's society. We are told to not be proud of what we look like. We are criticized for our real textured hair to our full lips. And we are dehumanized and rated by how beautiful we are depending on how light or dark our skin is. It was beautiful to see the beautiful black girls with different types of hair either fros, braids, and curly to short to long hair. It also showed age range in how we can believe we're beautiful and influential in every age. (Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy was in Formation.)

It touches your heart as it echoes the state of police brutality which the beautiful mothers of beloved sons that were victimized and killed by police brutality. These actions not only affected the family members it affected the black community. The selfless crimes makes us connect in emotional and spiritual levels. Lemonade was a love letter to those we loss and how we can be connected even by the tone of the world of its racial issues. The videos also starred talents of beautiful black girls such as powerhouses Chloe x Halle, athlete Serena Williams, actresses Amandla Stenberg and Zendaya. It was #blackgirlmagic! It was a reminder of strength and beauty of black girls have in society and in our hearts.
