Results of the election has been devastating and insulting mostly towards women. I am beyond in emotional pain of watching a highly qualified woman candidate lose to a man with no political experience, many are now in fear of losing basic rights. Trump is anti-abortion, and has plans to elect anti-abortion Supreme Court judges. That would be jeopardizing Roe v. Wade in the process. His vice president, Mike Pence, has a long record of vocal and irrational of his views against reproductive rights, Planned Parenthood, and equal pay. We have to prepare to continue a long, hard battle to protect our rights. The fight is far from over as many of our rights might be at immediate risk. But there are a number of preventative measures we can take to fight against these potential risks.

Donate to organizations working for your rights
The American Civil Liberties Union works tirelessly to protect all Americans from violations to their constitutional rights, and is already working on overdrive to defeat Trump’s unconstitutional plans.
Planned Parenthood is also more important than ever now, as the republican party, which now control the presidency, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, will do everything in their power to defund it. PP pledges that their doors will stay open no matter what.
Get involved with your community, speak up in class, join your school's newspaper or student government or your local Sierra Club. Support and keep up with organizations like Emily's List, which works to put more and more pro-choice women in political power. Get your news from women. Insert yourself, and a friend, into the places men in power are trying to hold onto as long as they can.
Get involved in your local government
The presidential election seemed endless, and it’s fine to take a brief respite from politics. There has never been a more important time in history to be involved in your local government. You can do canvassing, making calls, and being on the ground in local elections are our biggest tools for making that possible.
Volunteer
Organizations like RAINN work around the clock to help survivors of rape, abuse, and incest, and are always looking for volunteers, donations, and time. There are so many ways to get involved with Planned Parenthood too, as well as NARAL Pro Choice America or your local women's shelter. Keep being loud, active and stay strong!Let's make dents in the glass or what it may feel like brick ceilings to keep women, minorities and more in their power.
