Selena Gomez's AMA Acceptance Speech Will Make You Cry
Selena Gomez made her first television appearance since she cancelled her Revival Tour to concentrate on her health. Her return to the American Music Awards so poignant and inspiring at best. As celebrities were expressing their views and true feelings about the election and Trump on stage, Selena expressed her personal journey as of yet with her millions of fans. So to say that it was overwhelming to see the star make the ultimate comeback at tonight's 2016 American Music Awards is a major understatement.
Gomez won "Best Female Artist" and gave an acceptance speech that touched everyone, both at home and in the audience — Lady Gaga included. Lady Gaga were one of the many moved by Selena's heartfelt words of encouragement for Selena's fans and non-fans alike. (Singer Lady Gaga could hardly keep her emotions together when the camera panned towards her.) "I'm not trying to get validation nor do I need it anymore," Selena told the crowd. (Sings "That's My Girl" by one of the performers of the show, Fifth Harmony as she said this.) The singer and actress laid it all out and got super candid with how she was feeling deep down. She continued "I don't want to see your bodies, I want to see what's in your hearts." The AMA's, like any popular vote show, is determined by fans. The pop star also gave a heartfelt shoutout to her Selenators and said, "I have to say thank you so much to my fans because you guys are so damn loyal and I don't know what I did to deserve you." Before she left the stage, Selena added, "If you are broke you don't have to stay broken."
I'm not crying, you are. *Sheds a tear.* Ok, I am not OK. Brb, I can't stop crying after this speech. But like Selena technically says, we will be OK.
We are all Lady Gaga as many watched like a proud mama as Selena Gomez gave her emotional acceptance speech for winning Best Female Artist.
