Powerful Photos That Will Give You Hope

The rhetoric since the devastating election news of Donald Trump, has resulted as a sadness like a death. However, more than half of this country and abroad are done hearing taunts about we are "over reacting." This is a dark moment in time in America history. There is grief and anger that is so profound it could break through walls as millions of us are trying to break glass ceilings. I have started a photo series called Love Trumps All, showing the outpour for equality in this emotional and political divide in America following the election. In this series, it consists of photos taken during recent protests in cities such as New York and Los Angeles. Stay turned for more of the photo series as America pushes to repair what can be a great America.

The construction of the pipeline jeopardizes Lake Oahe, a main source of drinking water for the Sioux tribe of Indigenous people. And, not to mention, the pipeline will also require digging up ancient burial ground, therefore defiling land where the tribe's ancestors were laid to rest. Its a shame that people are getting ready to have Thanksgiving "holiday" and Native people are trying to save their homeland.Hundreds of protestors of the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline — which not only disturbs sacred burial grounds important to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, but also has the potential to contaminate local drinking water. The community was faced with tear gas and water cannons by police on Sunday night, according to news reports. The Natives reported that the police used rubber bullets and percussion grenades. They're saying that we're causing multiple fires out here, but we're really only using them to stay warm," Walker River Paiute member Atsa E'sha Hoferer told NBC News. "I'm just a father with a phone that loves his water, that wants his water to be clean for his children and grandchildren."Medics also objected to the use of water cannons in ( approximately 67 degrees) below-freezing weather.

In a statement on Facebook, Standing Rock Medic & Healer Council warned, "As medical professionals, we are concerned for the real risk of loss of life due to severe hypothermia under these conditions." The pipeline, which would carry oil from North Dakota to Illinois, have potential to harm sacred Native American grounds. According to the Guardian, 167 people were taken to the hospital follow the clash with police — and since protests began, more than 400 people, including Shailene Woodley, have been arrested.

You may have seen celebrities like @RowanBlanchard or @WillowSmith getting involved with the protection of this land, but you can do your own part, too. Head to StandingRock.org to learn how to donate and/or contact local government officials. If are celebrating Thanksgiving "holiday" to most, you can also donate to the less fortunate people who are deeply rooted in this historically demeaning day in American history. Where gift cards, parades and food are carefully crafted to distract many of us for how this day would go in dissatisfaction of people who first were introduced to this day.

These pictures that could be in history books look like it could be adapted into a movie.
