Black Girls Are Being Called Beautiful In A Video And Twitter Is Loving It

It has become a socially problem of black girls associated with bad stereotypes for decades from their black hair, behavior etc. it is either exaggerated, fabricated, judged and cultural appropriated. Art has a way of showcasing black people in a positive light that many times the media shows black people as "complaining, rude, bad attitude or any type of negative adverb that is demeaning. For example, artist and photography Miles Loftin created a viral art presentation HOODED, "that humanizes and decriminalizes the societal image of black boys and black men dressed in hoodies. The media has always put a negative light on black men in hoodies and even when you google “black boy hoodie” you get images of criminals while the search “white boy hoodie” produces cookie cutter stock photos of white teenagers smiling." He photographed four black teens/men and portrayed them in a positive light in bright hooded jackets as they smiled for the camera. A new project has received 18,000 retweets and 43,000 likes on Twitter has represented black girls. Eva Sativa, as known as her Twitter, told some black girls around her school that they are beautiful and filmed their responses. The responses varied from modesty to unapologetic agreeing to what Eva said to be true. It is always surprising how a simply word can have so much power in someone's esteem. It proves that seeing a stranger compliment a friend or another stranger is encouraging and it what many people love especially with gun violence and sexual assault crimes in Hollywood being revealed. Projects that directly or indirectly helps promote good communication, social skills, and just being a decent human being towards others is what we all need.

Quote of the Day:

“Pick the day. Enjoy it—to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present—and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.” —Audrey Hepburn
